The April Clay Shoot was a huge success! We had 60 participants attend the spring event, weather was a true blessing for the day, and many participants left the event expressing compliments and congratulations for a successful and entertaining event.
Robert Lucas from All Ways Safe Traffic Control won the 12-gauge shotgun auction.
Thank you again to the Craig Schilling Family for their generous donation of the 12-gauge shot gun.
Two Chefs Catering provided a delicious lunch for the participants. Plenty of delicious food with a little left over!
We want to give a shout out to Minuteman Press and Slippery Rock Golf Cart Rentals. This day would not have been successful without their contributions.
The events success was attributed to the many sponsors who continue to support the Christopher Hulbert Memorial.

USAF Captain Christopher Hulbert dedicated his life and time to his family, service members, education, and career. A loving husband and son, Christopher passed away in January of 2019. A local resident of the Butler area, Christopher received two Master’s Degrees: one from the University of South Carolina for Public Administration and another from Oklahoma University for Interdisciplinary Studies. Following his excellent academic career, Chris wanted to further his career and education by enlisting as an Officer for the Air Force in November of 2008. During Christopher’s time as an Airman, he was deployed to Germany, Africa, Afghanistan (2), and Kuwait. His service will always be remembered and honored, as he received a multitude of military awards celebrating his service to his country. This includes: Two joint service commendation medals, an Air Force Commendation medal, Joint Service Achievement Medal, and an Air Force Achievement medal. The last award that Christopher received was Air Force Captain of the Year 2018. Even with all of his success through the Air Force, Christopher suffered greatly from PTSD and became another statistic in the epidemic of veteran suicides. According to an article found on Business Insider written by Sarah Gray, suicide rates for veterans were found in 2016 to be 30.1 per 100,000 as compared to the national average of 13.1 to 100,000. The rate for veterans aged 18 to 34 is found to be even greater, about 45 per 100,000 as reported by the VA. There are 22 daily occurrences of veteran suicide. As these men and women have made the ultimate sacrifice for us as American people, we would like to honor them through this event. The goal of this event is to accentuate Battlefield and Deployment Trauma, PTSD, Military Suicides and educate the community on prevention and veteran support.
Please join us in meeting our goals. Registration is now open, use the links below.
